Any reformed drinkers out there?

Ive been in a slew of trouble caused by my drinking. Its getting to the point where i must drink everyday, but im getting sicker and feeling sluggish and weak. I **** what im doing to myself and fear losing my job and health. The problem is i love the bar scene, but i really gotta stop now and i know i will miss drinking tremendously. Anyone out there tell me how they stopped drinking and what they did to keep busy during the first couple months, or year??

I was arrested for a 16 year old traffic warrant i didn’t know i had.what should i do?

i moved back to my small hometown a few months ago after being a way for 16 years…i am 41 now so i would have been 25 when i got a traffic ticket…i honestly can’t remember getting one and not paying it back then…a few years ago i went to the dmv and had them run a check to see if i had any outstanding tickets in any states and i took care of a couple that i had and cleared my record…i even had a job that did a complete background check for a security clearance right after that and i came out clear for everything…when i moved back to my home state i did the same thing and got a new license for the state…last weekend i walked to a downtown bar and had 4 beers and a shot…then i walked home…i wasn’t drunk…a cop stopped me and asked for my identification because he said i was “suspicious” and they have had some car break ins lately…he ran my id and said i was under arrest for a traffic ticket and a no show to court from 16 years ago…well, i had to spend the night in jail until i could be bailed out the next day for $900…wow!!!…i don’t drink and drive and i still get in trouble!…lol…i go to court on the 24th of this month…i feel i did everything to clear up any traffic problems i had when i was in my 20’s and stupid…what should i say in front of the judge?…do you think that $900 is going to cover what ever ticket problems i had a decade and a half ago?…i am at a complete loss on what i should expect, and if i am going to have to serve jail time for such an old ticket…i have never had a problem with the law besides traffic tickets in my 20’s…anyone else had a problem like this?…what did you do to fix it?…thanks in advance for any advice you can give me…

I need ideas for a good date?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
A friend is letting me ask this on his account…

I have not been on a date or been with a woman for almost 15 years. Just could not find the right girl. Now my brothers girlfriend older sister is going to be here for a few weeks and they set up a date for tomorrow night.
She knows that I have chosen abstinence, so *** is not a issue, and I know she does not drink, smoke, or do drugs, is very beautiful, and her guy has just left her (his job made him move and she did not want to, so they parted as friends), so I want to be nice to her. I am not concerned about a later date, or about being the rebound guy, nether will happen, this is a 1-time only, unless WE decide to go out again later.
My idea now is to go see HSM 3 (we both liked 1 and 2, and don’t care if it it suppose to be a kids movie) ,then go the local steak house to eat, then come home and I spend awhile brushing her hair. (I’m not sure who would enjoy that more, but I know we both would)
The more I think about this, the worst it seems. this is a date from the 1950s or 1960s. I want her to remember it as the best date ever.

I’m desperate… HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are my chances of getting a big firm job graduating from Golden Gate School of Law?

Why is it that many bartenders have drinking problems themselves?

Do they have a drinking problem before they start working at a bar, and get into that line of work b/c they can drink on the job. Or do they develop drinking problems as a result of being around it so much?

Just started a Sm. catering fruit business need advice to catering sm. breakfast mtg. what to charge?

about 15 people to perpare for, just fruit, bagles, muffins, about 15 miles from home,first time catering, need help on cost of service for this job? At this time I go each morning with fruit basket to different business and sell my produce. Just getting started.

Where is a good place to relocate to and work in the south?

I’ve had 3 years of college and discovered that engineering isn’t for me. I’d like to take the chance while I’m young and move somewhere fun outside of Missouri. I was thinking about working for a resort that offered on-site housing. If anyone out there has had any experience with this type of thing I’d love any information you could give me. Just driving somewhere and finding a bartending/serving job is an option, but if I could get a job and place to live in one, it would save a lot of trouble.

someone help me organize this party?

Someone help me organize this party, anyone?
So I plan to host a party after January 2009 may be mid feb-early march…
I want to host it after a tiring exam week, just to unwind and have some fun after working hard in school.

So it’s not that big, around 17 people give or take… ages 14-16 ( my guy friends and their dates)….my classmates I am 15 myself ( boy)

Here’s what I am thinking…..

on the final exam day or the day after it we’ll all go to a bar (rent it) at around 7:00 PM…have a few drinks, eat, music, dance….. (we have to dress up)

then after that at around 11 PM-2 AM……. a swimming party and few drinks…….then something like a sleep over…watch movies before finally sleeping…..

so that is what I am thinking now…

I have $1000 budget…..
I have a job and I want to start 2009 happy

so any ideas that you can add? is my budget okay? any comments and suggestions
IGNORE THE THOUSAND DOLLAR BUDGET>>>>> I COULD BE FLEXIBLE.just tell me some estimates

My friend did not get a job because he is not gay, is that a lawsuit?

My heterosexual friend applied to a *** bar, and they asked for a picture of himself. After he sent it they said he was the type of bartender they were looking for according to looks. Then they replied again asking if he was *** and he said no, and they said that he couldn’t work there because he had to be ***.

He already explained to them that he had worked at *** bars before and there were no problems. But since they specifically told him he didn’t get the job because he is heterosexual, isn’t that discrimination?
