What are some good ways to become a good bartender? ?

Im only 19, but ive always mixed drinks etc for my mom when she throws parties, and i really enjoy the whole atmosphere, and am thinking about maybe bartending. what are some good tips, and how do i get started? how does one become a bartender?

There was a town near the trailor park with only one bar. a man named Abe was known as the best drinker in the town. at a bar, the bartender named Joe challenged Abe to a drinking contest, with a new vodka he invented. Joe laid out the rules. the contest was scored like a football game. 1 shot counted as a touchdown. for the extra point u had to pull down ur pants and ****. so joe goes first, drinks the first shot, pulls down his pants and farts, to go up 2-0. so it was abes turn. abe takes the shot, and while he was pulling his pants down for the extra point, joe goes behind him with his pants down and goes “Block that kick! Block that Kick!’

a man sitting alone in a bar has ordered 3 drinks and has had to pay for each one as he ordered them,reminding the bartender what he was drinking each time. another man walks in, says nothing but the bartender slides a drink to him, the man slams the drink and walks out with out paying for it, the man looks at the bartender and says” hey, who is that guy ? he didn’t tell you what he wanted and you let him leave without paying for it!
the bartender replied” brothers and sisters i have none, but that mans father is my fathers son”!

What is open Monday Nights in Chicago?

Co-worker and I are looking for some place fun to get some drinks next Monday night. Any suggestions on where there might be a good crowd.
We don’t need a night club but we would like at least a loungey feel or something more than just a dive bar.

Where is a great club in NYC to throw a surprise 30th B-Day party for a guy?

My boyfriend is down and out about turning 30 and I am planning on throwing him a surprise birthday party. My ideal setup would be to have a private room or section in a nyc nightclub or lounge (preferrably a lounge) for 50 friends and family where we can enjoy cake, finger foods, drinks and dancing. I am also interested in an open bar for 2 - 3 hours. This event will take place in december after christmas. Please please please please help!!!!

I would like to hear other’s opinions on tipping servers in restaurants?

I have been waitressing for about 12 years, i really enjoy it even though it’s really stressfull. i am now a manager of a bar and grill type of restaurant. and i am always surprised at people. (part of the reason i love my work) my very best server had a table last night with 4 people, all of their drinks and courses were courteously served in a timely fashion, i even make it a habit to take a run through the dining room to be sure the customers are properly taken care of. talking to them briefly, if they are not too engrossed in their own conversations. these particular customers never complained and i believe recieved excellent service. they did not tip the server!! why do you think that is?? any ideas??
i have seen waiting and if any of my servers EVER actually did any of those things they would be terminated immediately! but i loved the movie

FINALLY, someone understands! to those of yu who don’t tip or think that a server should always go the extra mile “just for you”. remember, unless the service was horrible, completely beyond reason, they are trying to do their best. It is on the other hand a job. everyone has to work. sometimes people have a bad day. i think it should be mandatory for everyone to work in a restaurant in order to graduate.

My boyfriend and I always manage to hook up after 9 (because of our schedules). I live in Sfld, and looking for a pub, bar, lounge, restaurant that stays open pretty late (past 10 or 11) during the week…but not too far away. We usually don’t feeling like trucking it all the way downtown during the week. We have exhausted Fridays and Mr. Joes. We need fresh spots…

I am a poker player who plans on going to atlantic city on Monday from 12 pm - 8pm and I’ve been searching all over the internet for special deals and I have not been able to find any , like chip bonuses, free t-shirts, drinks, etc.
