I am connected to chat rooms but can’t see the chat room screen! “Request took longer than expected”

I recently downloaded Messenger 8 (msgr 8.1.0.239, module (8.0.0.1). It was installed freshly on my pc. I can log in, get my friends lists, get my cam working but I cannot
1) find the log into chat button on the console. It is not there, I have checked thorogouhly under Messenger and Actions but there is no chat option. So I log into chat through going to this website and clicking “find a chatroom now” http://messenger.yahoo.com/feat_chatrooms.php;_ylt=AjEReecJtwJq5GSAqfHiRRAbc9IF
this leads to my next question
2) The chat room selection screen loads up (and the advert wont display). I select and double click on my chat room of choice. The yahoo blue scroll bar moves and says “connecting”, then “Connected”. I click “Enter Chat” and nothing happens, no screen comes up. After 2 minutes it says “cannot log you in, request took longer than expected”. But still I get IMs from people who say they can see my in the chat room. I cannot load the chat room screen up at all.

First part of your question you should see with-in your yahoo messenger window Chat @ the top, If its not there i would completely remove yahoo messenger & reinstall. On the second part of your question I have had the same problems with yahoo the last few days only @ certain times of day i cant get into chat rooms i was told yahoo severs were packed with people (mostly booters & bots) Give it another shot & keep trying you’ll get in.
