Is it appropriate for a woman to go to a bar alone?

I really want to go to a bar..except none of my friends are 21 yet. I’m seriously considering going alone. I don’t want to be hit on or anything. So I guess I probably shouldn’t go alone??
I would take the metro home.

if you do go out alone be very carefull and watch your drink for spiking and have a way to get home safely

Appropriate? Sure.
Uncomfortable? DEFINITELY!!!
Why bother? no bar is worth it! Most are just dives, anyway. They’re basically no fun alone. Most fun is with a group of friends.
See if you can find someplace that will allow your friends in, but not allow them to drink. Plenty of clubs and restaurants that will allow that.

Of course it’s fine to go alone. If you don’t want to be hit on, then when people approach you, just say you prefer drinking alone, thanks. Don’t let other people stop you from doing what you want.

It depends on where you are and what bar. In some of the more “advanced” places, there are bars where solo women can go in for a drink, a bit of chat if that’s what they want, or they can just read all alone or be left all alone. I have a bar near my house that is so cozy and “safe” that I took my mom there once. Has a couple big screen tvs so you can watch sports. Has a bunch of overstuffed chairs and sofas. Along with the usual pool tables, dart boards, bar w/stools. Women can go and just have fun and the men know that if they are told “no” once, that’s it, they do not continue to harass.
Of course, here in San Francisco, we also have “dyke” bars and ******* bars where it is always safe for a woman (sort of). You need to make a few “older” friends.

i think that its your choice u never know you could meet knew pple i’m only ten but i’m not stupid i recomend u keep your drinkin an equal amount i think you should try if a guy hits on you then relax and ignore him

just be smart, watch your drink, be safe, trust your gut. i say take back the night and go.

of course you should go by yourself…you need to establish your identity and be able to carry yourself alone…just don’t get sloshed and let some low life take advantage of you, that is the trick, don’t get so wasted that some scum takes advantage of the situation….go out…be brazen…but be smart!!!

Why don’t you just go to a restaurant with a bar in it , then you can be with your friends and you can drink if you want to , your friends can have meals , and places like that have funky drinks with no Liquor , it’s fun you all get to be together and you get a drinky or two
